I. Direct Answers

Most of them can be printed on both sides, but it depends on the weight and material of the paper. It cannot be generalized.

II. Conditions for Double-Sided Painting

Heavy-weight paper

160g and 180g thick sketch paper, with high density and thickness, suitable for pencils, charcoal pencils and sketch pens.

It is not easy to penetrate through the lead, does not leave any marks, and can be used for painting on both the front and the back.

The paper is dense and does not easily fray.

Solid wood pulp thickened sketch paper. The paper surface is firm, and the drawings on the reverse side will not be affected by the pressure from the strokes on the front side.

III. Suggestion for Avoiding Double-sided Painting

Thin, low-weight paper (80g - 120g)

The paper is rather thin, and the lead powder tends to seep through the pages and the impression is quite distinct.

Painting on the reverse side will result in dark shadows, uneven textures, and a dirty and messy picture.

Severe layering, repeated line arrangement, thick charcoal application

Extensive use of heavy colors, blackening, and overlapping brushstrokes.

Even thick paper is prone to bleed through during printing, which can affect the quality on the reverse side.

IV. Minor Issues Specific to the Coil

On the inner side near the coil position, if you forcefully arrange the wires on the front side, there will be indentations.

A small area at the bottom edge is slightly affected by the touch.

The coil could have been laid flat at 180 degrees. Compared to the bound book, painting on both sides is much more convenient.

V. Purchase Suggestions

Daily sketches, copying, beginner practice: Choose 160g or above, and feel free to draw on both sides.

Fine sketches, long-lasting works: It is recommended to paint on one side only, as this will result in a better texture of the picture.

Children's art, daily doodles: Thick coil-bound notebooks, double-sided use is more cost-effective and environmentally friendly
